State Bicycle Co. x Grateful Dead - Dancing Bears Klunker (27.5")
Dancing Bears Klunker was the name of this Grateful Dead collaboration on State's 27.5" Klunker, introduced in 2021 and retired on July 22, 2022. The whole point of the Klunker was simplicity: no gears to shift, no derailleurs or cables to fuss with, just a 42t crank, a 22t cog and a coaster brake. It paired BMX-style 36-hole rims and a 30"-wide, 7"-rise V-bar with 2.3" WTB knobby tires for traction. An upright riding position, flat pedals that worked with any shoes (sandals included) and a standard bottle opener made it as much commuter as trail bike.
